ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Bachelor’s of Engineering(OR)
2. Any Level 3 Qualifications Recognized by IOSH(OR)
3. Science Graduate with 3 Yrs Minimum Experience (OR)
4. Any Diploma in Safety

SYLLABUS

UNIT A: MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY

1. Principles and theories of safety and health management
2. Risk Management
3. Safety and health strategy, Policy and Culture
4. Communications and organizational competence
5. Control of safety and health risks
6. Monitoring systems for safety and health
7. Audit and review

UNIT B: INDUSTRIAL HAZARDS, RISKS AND CONTROL MEASURES

1. Physical Hazards
2. Electrical Hazards
3. Chemical Hazards
4. Fire Hazards
5. Biological Hazards
6. Psychosocial Hazards
7. Construction Safety
8. Oil & Gas Safety
9. Equipment Safety
10. Toxicology and Epidemiology

ASSESMENT TYPE

1. Unit A: Question paper, 5 hours written exam
2. Unit B: Question paper, 5 hours written exam

QUESTION PAPER PATTERN

1. Question Paper is for 150 Marks. There are two sections
2. Section A will have 6 questions carrying 10 marks each. All questions are compulsory
3. Section B will have 5 questions carrying 20 marks each. Answer any 3 questions.
4. Section C Case Study – Health and Safety audit of the Workplace – 30 marks

PASS STANDARDS

1. Unit A : 50%
2. Unit B: 50%
3. A ‘Pass’ must be achieved in both units to achieve the European Safety Council’s International Diploma in Health and Safety Engineering.
